My quarterly post covering personal and professional updates, and some links.
Personal Updates
After a low-key September, we had a full October. We were able to do a weekend trip to Anderson, SC to see my parents and attend the Clemson vs. Boston College football game. It was Clemson’s homecoming, so it was great to catch up with friends.
Cameron followed that weekend by running the Chicago marathon. While I was not there to cheer her on, she ran a great race and set a new personal record.
This past weekend was full of Halloween celebrations. Gaines had a Halloween parade at his school on Friday and our neighborhood party and trick or treating on Sunday. At school, he was dressed in a tiger costume while in our neighborhood he went as a lawn care worker with a “backpack blower”. He is obsessed with all things lawn equipment, so it was a fitting costume.
I’ve included a few pictures in this Google album.
WMS Updates
It’s hard to believe we are in the final two months of the year! We’ve been busy the past few weeks with clients’ quarterly reviews and meetings. We are STILL waiting on possible tax legislation out of Washington to see if we need to make any investment or financial planning changes for clients at the last minute. Typically, we do capital gain/loss, charitable gifting, and other financial planning during the last few months of the year so that’s what we’ll be focused on from now until year-end.
I am heading to Maryland next week for our broker-dealer, Grove Point Financial‘s, annual conference. I am excited to attend since last year’s conference was entirely virtual. It’s always good to network with other financial professionals and Grove Point’s leadership at these events.
Grove Point’s is owned by a much larger firm, Kestra Financial. Kestra recently launched an investment management division headed by Kara Murphy. Kara produces a great market commentary called Markets in a Minute. The latest one deals with Supply Chains. Let me know if these are something you are interested in receiving going forward.
